Inspiration for the paintings comes from everyday life. A celebrity and media obsessed world.

The art features famous scenes from the world of movies, music and press as well as snapshots from everyday life. The paintings mix the subject matter that inspired the pop artists, and the use of light and technical skill that went into the work of the great Renaissance artists. The end result being stunning high contrast images that sit equally well in a penthouse flat or a country cottage.

 

There are two styles of portraits. One style reduces the subject to its simplest form using large areas of flat colour to great big bold images. The second style whilst still being simple is painted in much more detail to pick out the key features in the subjects face. The subject is then contrasted against large areas of carefully chosen flat colour to create the background. Removing any background detail ensures that the full focus in the painting is on the subject. The most important thing in both styles of portrait is to capture the character and emotion of the subject.

 

All the original paintings are produced in acrylic paint on canvases, each image is created lovingly from the initial planning and sketching to the application of the paint on the canvas. The canvas is ready to hang on the wall but can also be framed if required (a framing service is not provided).
